Our Story

A2Roots has grown from patience, steady work, and a shared love of our hometown.

We are two Ann Arbor natives who
met as children. A friendship began. Years later, that friendship led us to a shared vision for a vineyard.

That vision is rooted in respect for the land and the belief that meaningful things take time. It blends story with stewardship, curiosity with discipline. What began as an idea became plans. Plans became rows. Rows became a vineyard of our own.

Our backgrounds continue to shape how we tend the vineyard.

One carries a seventh-generation farming heritage, paired with work in dietetics and wellness — grounding our approach in care, continuity, and intention.

The other draws on years of experience in logistics and production, along with a foundation in literature — bringing a storyteller’s lens to the vineyard: each vine a sentence, every harvest a story.

A2Roots is a labor of patience and a reflection of friendship, steady, considered, and here for the long run.

Our Farming Philsophy

We believe good farming comes before good wine.

Our approach is simple: pay attention, move deliberately, and respect the land we work. Each vine is tended by hand. Each season teaches us something new.

We farm with patience and restraint. That means healthy roots, balanced vines, and fruit that reflects where it was grown.

This is not fast work.
It is steady work.
And it is the kind of work we are proud to stand behind.
